Tanzania's Seasonal Highlights

Depending on how you would like to witness the Great Migration, the best time of the year to travel can be June to July to the Western corridor of the Serengeti for Grumeti River crossings where the animals face a great obstacle as the river is often filled with crocodile

Alternatively, July to September is ideal for dramatic Mara River crossings in the Northern Serengeti

From January to March the calving season occurs in the Southern parts of the Serengeti bringing about plenty of predator-prey interactions

The movement of these animals is dependent on so many natural factors and these migrational patterns are therefore based on previous years

If you are looking to add some time on the beach in Zanzibar, the long dry season from June to October is perfect as the sea is calmer and the wind is lighter, making for perfect conditions for water-based activities and beachside relaxation
